Win Joy and Passion with Manukau’s Orchestra Times NZ

A light-hearted waltz, a virtuosic piano concerto and an impassioned symphony will delight audiences when the Manukau Symphony Orchestra takes centre stage at the Vodafone Events Centre on Saturday 19 May, 7.30pm.
The orchestra’s Music Director and founding conductor, Professor Uwe Grodd, will lead the orchestra of 75, ranging from ages of 17 to 85, through timeless works such as Nicolai’s Merry Wives of Windsor Overture and Tchaikovsky’s bold Symphony No. 6 “Pathétique”.
As for Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 1, there is no better soloist to perform this work than the First Prize winner of the prestigious International Liszt Competition in 1986, Auckland-based Italian pianist, Matteo Napoli.
