Win a double pass to Ladies in Lavender Times NZ

Terry Hooper was initially in two minds about directing Howick Little Theatre’s new production and had to think about where the plot was leading and why it was given its title, Ladies in Lavender.
He thought about lavender being a sleep enhancer and realised that the two main characters, sisters Janet and Ursula Widdington, were woken from a sleepy lifestyle and, after Ursula’s tumultuous experience of unrequited love, were eventually transported back into their quiet world.
The production has presented challenges to the set designers who have recreated an on-set beach, garden and Cornish cottage. A lilting classical music score has been found to run throughout the production and a quirky edge to the story comes with the regular appearance of a traditional Cornish Stargazy pie.
