It offers participants a chance to win a year's worth of free power, enhancing energy efficiency and savings for New Zealand residents. What are the prizes for the Energy Upgrade competition?

The Energy Upgrade competition offers four prizes, each consisting of a $3,500 (excl. GST) electricity account credit with Contact Energy. This credit provides one year of free power to the winners. The total prize pool value for the competition is $14,000 (excl. GST).

When does the competition close?

The competition closes at 11:59 PM NZST on Thursday, 30 July 2026. Entries must be submitted within this timeframe to be considered valid.

How do I enter the competition?

To enter the competition, participants must be New Zealand residents aged 18 or older. During the entry period, eligible entrants must register via the competition entry form at winwithsevensharp.co.nz and accept the full terms and conditions outlined for the competition.

Who is eligible to enter the Energy Upgrade competition?

The Energy Upgrade competition is open to all New Zealand residents who are 18 years of age or older as of 27 July 2026. Employees and contractors of TVNZ, as well as their immediate families and flatmates, are not eligible to enter.

How is the winner selected?

Winners are selected through a random draw conducted by TVNZ on each day from Tuesday, 28 July to Friday, 31 July 2026. One winner is drawn daily, and if a winner does not respond within 48 hours, another winner may be selected at TVNZ's discretion.

Winners will be notified via email and phone by TVNZ. If a winner does not respond within 48 hours, they may forfeit their prize, and another winner may be selected.
