The film’s not only taken home two Golden Globes for Best Actress and Best Motion Picture in a Musical or Comedy, it’s also received too many nominations to mention this awards season. Set in 2002 in small town Sacramento, Lady Bird is a window into the life of teenager Christine – aka Lady Bird – McPherson (Academy Award® nominated Saoirse Ronan) during her senior year of high school. The film focuses on the joy, humour and pain in the bond between Lady Bird and her mother as she struggles to discover herself.
