I love Sam Harris' overall view on the spirituality without religion, but I found this book to be a basic discussion and guide on Mediation rather than a more detailed analysis into why and how these spiritual practises make you more awake? I expected more from Sam given that he is a neuroscientist and has previously published more scientific approaches to the subject. But still a good read, especially if you are wanting to gently step away from the brain washing you have experienced in organised religion.
