This time around, you have the chance of winning one of TWO $10,000 shopping sprees!
Simply listen to The Hits from 6am each weekday to play the Retail Game.
You’ll go head to head with another listener.
We’ll name an item and you’ll need to name the price!
The first caller to guess the correct price goes in the grand prize draw.
PLUS, there will be bonus prize rounds where you will instantly win a mini Retail Therapy experience.

The Hits Retail Therapy
1. By entering this competition you accept these terms and conditions and agree to follow the
instructions on how to enter (if there is any inconsistency between the information on how to
enter and these terms and conditions, these terms and conditions prevail). References to
“terms and conditions” mean these terms and conditions and the privacy policy below
2. Entry is open to all residents of New Zealand. NZME employees and their immediate families
are ineligible to enter or win
3. Each week day, all shows, in all day parts will encourage listeners to call in and play ‘The
Retail Game’ and compete for their chance to go in the grand prize draw
4. Announcers will give two eligible contestants that call through, the chance to play
5. The Hits announcer will name a desirable item. The contestants will guess the recommended
retail price (RRP) of the item. They will take turnabout, with the announcer giving ‘higher’ or
‘lower’ clues
6. The contestant the correctly identifies the correct RRP, goes in to the grand prize draw
7. For more chances to enter, listeners can complete an online Retail Therapy Shopping List
8. By submitting the online Retail Therapy Shopping List, the entrant will receive one extra entry
in the grand prize draw
9. You may enter as many times as you like
10. All entries become the property of NZME
11. NZME is not responsible for any lost, late, delayed, incorrect or misdirected entries
12. Entries close Friday 23rd March 2018
13. There are two main prizes to be won. The prize winner will be drawn at random
14. The prize winner will be contacted by telephone
15. If the prize winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize, the winner will forfeit the
prize and NZME will make a redraw
16. The prize is not transferable and no portion of the prize is redeemable for cash
17. On a selected date, The Hits will host the prize winner for the shopping spree which will take
place at mutually agreed location in New Zealand
18. The shopping spree will be documented on-air, online and on social media
19. The full $10,000 must be spent in one day at multiple stores in the selected city
20. NZME’s decision in relation to any aspect of the competition is final and no correspondence
will be entered into
21. The winner acknowledges that, to the extent permitted by law, NZME accepts no
responsibility or liability (including in negligence) to any person for any harm, damage, illness,
injury, cost, loss, damage, expense or claim which may occur as a result of the winner winning
or using the prize. The winner accepts and uses the prize at his or her own risk and agrees to
indemnify NZME against all costs, losses, damages, expenses and liabilities (including for loss
of reputation and goodwill) and any claim arising from their own actions in any way in
connection with the prize
22. If the prize winner is under the age of 18 the prize will be awarded to the prize winner’s
parent or legal guardian. By accepting the prize, the winner’s parent or legal guardian agrees
to these terms and conditions
23. NZME reserves the right (in their absolute discretion) to extend, postpone, or cancel the
competition and to update these terms and conditions on without notice
24. The prize winner may be required to sign a declaration confirming their eligibility to accept
the prize NZME reserves the right to request the prize winners to provide proof of identity at
the nominated prize collection address. Identification considered suitable for verification is
at the discretion of NZME. To accept the prize the winner must agree to relevant third party
terms and conditions relating to the prize
25. Contestants will be required to participate on-air. If the Promoter believes, in the Promoters
absolute discretion, that the Contestant may use offensive or inappropriate behaviour or
language, or the Contestant does anything that may damage the reputation of the Promoter,
the Promoter may disqualify the Contestant from the Promotion and any Prize awarded by
the Promoter will be forfeit.
26. By entering the Promotion, participants consent to be photographed and filmed by the
Promoter for the purposes specified below and according to the Promoter’s Privacy Policy
(available at http://www.thehits.co.nz/info/privacy-policy/).
27. Participants grant The Hits exclusive permission to use their name, photograph, voice and
film recordings in which they appear, in connection with the Promotion and for future
promotion and marketing purposes and waive any claims to royalty, right or remuneration for
such use. This includes the right to use on the Promoter’s websites, Facebook pages, on Air
and other publications of the Promoter.
28. Any payment of a Prize will be arranged directly between the Promoter and the winner and
are subject to the winner promptly providing to the Promoter all correct information
requested.
29. NZME is not liable for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered (including but not limited to
indirect or consequential loss) or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with
either participation in this promotion or with any prizes offered
