1. By entering this competition you accept these terms and conditions and agree to follow the
instructions on how to enter (if there is any inconsistency between the information on how to
enter and these terms and conditions, these terms and conditions prevail). References to
“terms and conditions” mean these terms and conditions and the privacy policy below
2. Entry is open to all residents of New Zealand. NZME employees and their immediate families
are ineligible to enter or win
3. To enter, listen to The Hits for a ‘$10,000 Alpha Quiz’ activator. Be the lucky caller to be the
quiz contestant on-air.
4. The quiz contestant will need to answer correctly all 10 questions within 60 seconds
5. All answers must begin with the chosen letter which will be announced prior to the quiz
commencing
6. The contestants first answer is taken
7. The contestant can pass and we will come back to the question if time allows
8. The ‘$10,000 Alpha Quiz’ Activator will be highlighted on-air and will vary across the
promotional period between 6am – 9am
9. The winner will receive $10,000 deposited to their bank account within 14 days of winning
the competition
10. All entries become the property of NZME and can be re-purposed amongst other NZME
channels
11. NZME is not responsible for any lost, late, delayed, incorrect or misdirected entries
12. If the prize winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize, the winner will forfeit the
prize and NZME will make a redraw
13. The prize is not transferable
14. NZME’s decision in relation to any aspect of the competition is final and no correspondence
will be entered into
15. The winner acknowledges that, to the extent permitted by law, NZME accepts no
responsibility or liability (including in negligence) to any person for any harm, damage, illness,
injury, cost, loss, damage, expense or claim which may occur as a result of the winner winning
or using the prize. The winner accepts and uses the prize at his or her own risk and agrees to
indemnify NZME against all costs, losses, damages, expenses and liabilities (including for loss
of reputation and goodwill) and any claim arising from their own actions in any way in
connection with the prize
16. If the prize winner is under the age of 18 the prize will be awarded to the prize winner’s
parent or legal guardian. By accepting the prize, the winner’s parent or legal guardian agrees
to these terms and conditions
17. NZME reserves the right (in their absolute discretion) to extend, postpone, or cancel the
competition and to update these terms and conditions on without notice
18. The prize winner may be required to sign a declaration confirming their eligibility to accept
the prize NZME reserves the right to request the prize winners to provide proof of identity at
the nominated prize collection address. Identification considered suitable for verification is
at the discretion of NZME.
