Celebrate midwinter in Dunedin by taking full advantage of the city’s intriguing arts and cultural activities, its warm and vibrant culinary scene and its exciting urban centre.
Dunedin Airport, Air New Zealand, Enterprise Dunedin and NZ Life & Leisure have partnered up to offer readers the chance to win a three-night holiday for two (including flights and accommodation) in the city, which is planning an unforgettable midwinter season for its visitors.
Winners will experience a distinctively Dunedin long weekend during the vibrant midwinter months. Traveling with Air New Zealand, they will be transferred from Dunedin Airport to the city in style by Classic Jaguar, and stay at the historic Distinction Hotel in the revitalized warehouse precinct.
The weekend will include a street-art walking tour and a journey on the world-famous Taieri Gorge train with complimentary Emerson’s Taieri George beer. After the trip, join craft-beer king Richard Emerson at local bar Albar for haggis bites and a pint and then onto the new Emerson’s Brewery for a tour, tastings and dinner with Richard.
The prize is for two people, valued at approximately $3000, and includes:
- Return flights for two to Dunedin with Air New Zealand
- Transfers to and from Dunedin Airport with Classic Jags
- Three nights’ accommodation at the Distinction Hotel
- A Taieri Gorge train ride with complimentary Taieri George beer
- Back to Albar to meet Richard Emerson of Emerson’s Brewery for haggis bites and a pint
- Then on to the brewery for tour tasting and dinner with Richard
- A tea ceremony and tai chi lesson at Dunedin Chinese Garden
- A walking tour with Dunedin Street Art
During the weekend winners can also immerse themselves in the calming environment of the city’s urban oasis – Dunedin Chinese Garden – where they will be treated to a tea ceremony and tai chi lesson.
