A story about the lives and loves of three girls doing their bit for the British war effort.
Set in rural England during World War II on Hoxley Estate and in the village of Helmstead. It sees the opulent Hoxley Manor taken over as a hospital when the local military hospital is bombed. Connie and Henry celebrate the engagement, but a ghost from Connie’s past could ruin everything. And the youthful newcomer Iris is fitting in well on the farm, but she is covering up a secret that threatens to put the other land girls in danger.
