After capturing a mysterious orb from outer space, foolish adventurer Peter Quill (played by Chris Pratt) becomes the target to a grim space-villain known as Ronan the Accuser.
In a quest to save the galaxy from being held under his criminal mind, Quill is teamed with a group of misfits Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly yet mysterious soldier Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer who call themselves the Guardians of the Galaxy.
