Choice Hotels’ ‘Need A Break’ report, which helped to shape Choice Hotels’ new online platform, NeedaBreak.com, reveals millennials love to travel and are more motivated by romance than other generations. But while they are committed to life’s pleasures, they are also feeling more pressured than their generational counterparts. The research revealed 75 per cent of NZ millennials suffer from some level of stress. This is compared with 68 per cent of Generation Xers, and 52 per cent of baby boomers. So what’s the answer to this generational stress? Taking a break from everything (including digital technology) in the form of a Kiwi micro-holiday could be the best place to start! It makes sense when you consider the findings: 66 per cent of millennials say they felt happier after a short break, 37 per cent felt closer to their partners and children, and respondents also said a short break left them feeling revitalised and ready to tackle challenges with renewed energy.
