The hot style of yoga is performed in 40°C heat, which is pretty oven-like at first, but once you adjust to the practice, comes with its own rewards. At Britomart studio Hot Yoga Works, it’s performed in a purpose-built room with a sophisticated heating system that maintains the correct temperature while circulating fresh air to enhance workouts. Designed as a therapeutic practice, Bikram Yoga is a series of twenty-six Hatha Yoga postures and two Pranayama breathing techniques, which combine to create a challenging and invigorating yoga experience. Hot Yoga Works was founded by yoga and wellness expert Rebeckh Burns, who has recently returned from the One Fire Festival, in Joshua Tree California where she represented New Zealand among worldwide leaders in the field.
