Book review by Sarah in the Eldernet office.
Well! I just loved the look of this book it was beautifully bound, nice thick pages and beautifully printed.
When I flicked through the recipes there were so many I wanted to (and will) make! I ended up one Sunday night deciding on making some Afghans - great for morning tea in the Eldernet office I though. Added bonus was that I had all the ingredients in the pantry!
I made the biscuits and was a little concerned that it didn't seem like much mixture per biscuit when I was spooning them out. Next time I would probably also shape them a little more. A taste of the mixture and I knew they were going to be yummy.
Didn't take too long in the oven, 12 minutes or so and they were done. Popped them out to cool and made up the icing and decorated them with some walnut pieces. I didn't try one as it was getting late and I thought they looked great for morning tea with the team in the morning.
Off to bed I popped, leaving the hubby-to-be up with his father. Rookie mistake. (or was is a cookie mistake? Ha, sorry I couldn't resist)
In the morning there was FOUR left! Not enough to share around the office that's for sure.
They must've been good as they were taken home with the father-in-law for next day's lunch!
I never ended up personally trying them, but I got a text late Monday afternoon assuring me they were delicious!
I will definitely be making these again - they were so easy.
And with Christmas around the corner I will be trying out more recipes from the book and trust these will be just as good!
