Hand to Mouth is Linda's first book which was inspired by the success of her essay This is why poor people's bad decisions make perfect sense. Linda's book gives us a chance to learn from the experience of the United States Economy where addressing the problems associated with the working poor has been the subject of a recent White House forum. Linda has worked two jobs and has two children and a husband who struggled to readjust to civilian life after his last tour in Iraq. She knows what it's like to have problems you wish you could fix, but no money, energy or resources to fix them. Linda explains that it is not enough to be able to feed your family. You also need to have time at home to prevent becoming perpetually exhausted. This book provides an invaluable insight as to what it is like to be stuck in the poverty trap and the ramifications that has on all facets of a person's life.
