Who can enter the Qantas Christmas giveaway?

The competition is open to New Zealand residents aged 18 years or over with a New Zealand address. Employees, directors, management, and their immediate families of the Promoter, Qantas Airways, as well as their registered travel companions, are excluded from entry.

When does the competition close?

The promotion begins at 7:00 AM NZT on Friday, 6th December 2024, and closes at 11:59 PM NZT on Sunday, 15th December 2024.

How can one enter the competition?

To enter, Eligible Entrants must complete the entry form on the Qantas competition landing page, which includes writing a response in 50 words or less explaining why they and their chosen companion deserve to win the giveaway. Participants must also accept the terms and conditions during the entry process. Only one entry per person is allowed; multiple entries are not permitted.

What is the prize and how much is it worth?

The competition offers a single prize valued at NZD $2,500, which includes:
- 2 return economy tickets from Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, or Queenstown to Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane.
- Tickets are valid for travel on Qantas and QantasLink services only, and must be booked directly with Qantas.
- The prize includes GST but is subject to availability and ticket conditions.

What is the total prize pool value?

The total prize pool is valued at NZD $2,500, based on the recommended retail value of the return economy flights for two people.

When and how will the winner be notified?

The winner will be notified via email by 5:00 PM on 17th December 2024. The winner's name will also be published on the Qantas website within 7 days of prize acceptance.

What if the winner cannot accept the prize?

If the winner is unable to accept the prize or fails to claim it by 20th December 2024, a backup winner will be selected and notified by email on 21st December 2024. The backup winner’s name will also be published on the Qantas website.

What are the travel restrictions and conditions?

- Travel must be booked by 30th April 2025, and completed within the 12-month ticket validity period.
- Travel is subject to availability in economy class booking classes N, O, and Q.
- Tickets cannot be upgraded with cash or Qantas Points.
- The prize cannot be redeemed on codeshare flights or services operated by Qantas subsidiaries (e.g., Jetstar).
- The winner and their travel companion must travel together and are responsible for obtaining necessary travel documents (e.g., passport, visa).
- The prize is non-transferable and non-refundable. Any unused portion of the prize will be forfeited.

What happens if the prize is unavailable?

If the prize is unavailable, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with one of equal value or specification.

Are there any tax implications?

The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications arising from winning the prize. Winners are advised to seek independent financial advice regarding potential tax liabilities.
