Friday brings the action to the Manawatu Harness Raceway where a dual code Harness and Greyhound meeting will be held from 3pm onward. At the raceway there will be children’s entertainment, stock car displays and sporting heroes and celebrities in attendance. Highlight of the night will be a celebrity twin sulky race and the final of the Palmy Student Challenge. On stage entertainment will again feature Craig Loader and his band along with The Noodles performing live.
On the Saturday Awapuni hosts the final day of the Festival with the running of the Group 1 Courtesy Ford Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes. The day will also feature the running of the $100,000 Group 2 City of Palmerston North Gold Cup. Entertainment on the day will include a display by Linton Military, children’s entertainment, Fashion in the Field, and celebrating our rural community the first ever most eligible young farmer and farmerette competition. Entertainment on the day will also be provided by 6 Chairs Missing on stage between races. After the last race will be a full live performance by New Zealand legends The Feelers.
